[NEWS]: MARIJUANA LAWS IN NYC STOP LOW-LEVEL POSSESSION ARRESTS

You may not be constantly looking over your shoulders for the Po-Po because you’re caring a baggie of green but Mayor Bill de Blasio announced today what the NYPD will no longer be arresting for possession of small amounts of Marijuana.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and the police commissioner, Bill Bratton announced Monday, that no longer will people be arrested and charged for a misdemeanor but instead get a violation or summons.

While state law makes it a misdemeanor to have up to 25 grams about a sandwich bag of marijuana in "public view," the mayor characterized stopping such arrests as an enforcement choice that would give police officers time to pursue more serious crime and spare people from the consequences of arrest records for cases that often end up getting dismissed.

How do you feel about this new law? One small step? One huge step?
