Kanye West Claims Confederate Flag!

“It’s my flag.” ~ Kanye West

Could Kanye West be channeling Clayton Bigsby? The ‘New Slave’ himself doesn’t seem to think so. In fact, Yeezus says peddling tees bearing the Confederate Flag — a symbol once used to protest integration, and which is currently used by white supremacy groups — is his “abstract take” on the ‘Southern Star.’

During a recent radio interview, Kanye seemed to elude to a belief that he can erase the oppression attached to the flag by making it hip urban wear.

“The former flag of Southern states during the Civil War made its way into his merchandise.”

Here’s what Kanye West told 97.1 AMP:

“You know, the Confederate flag represented slavery in a way – that’s my abstract take on what I know about it. So I made the song ‘New Slaves.’

So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It’s my flag. Now what are you going to do?”

Will Kanye West rock white bed sheets like the KKK next? I don’t know, but what do ya’ll think?
