[Video Premiere]: Melody Thornton – ‘Lipstick&Guilt’

Melody Thornton goes dark in the video for “Lipstick&Guilt,” her soulful remake of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “No Church in the Wild.” Here is your first look at the dark and dangerous visuals from the former Pussycat Doll. Not only did she display her talent in front of the camera, Melody also did her own hair, makeup, and styling.

“We were influenced by the dark undertones of the track and Melody’s powerhouse vocals,” said directing duo Dano Cerny and Marielle Tepper of Hyperballad. “We worked with our effects team Nick Young and Zack Young to create a world that matched the mood and beauty but wasn’t your typical video imagery. The great thing about working with Melody is that she thinks out of the box and wants to push the envelope visually, which makes for a great collaboration.”
Check back here on Monday for the video premiere and look out for Melody’s 10-track mixtape P.O.Y.B.L (Piss On Your Black List), available for free download on March 15.

  1. Her voice was always better than Nicole’s.. Its sad that not all of the dolls got what they wanted while they were working as a group.. Witch cause it to collapse, I’ve Heard Melody, Jessica and Kimberly sing before and Nicole’s Voice has nothing on them..
